We awoke after a slightly windy night, again sleeping without the fly. It was very nice, especially in the heat, though we woke up a couple times when it slightly started to drizzle and then stopped, but overall slept well. We ate our melon (that the RVers from last night gave us) and set off, quite efficiently. It would have been about an hour from wake up to departure excluding loading the gps route and eating the melon.
I showed Viki today’s elevation profile and she was delighted. There was a 300m hill at the start and the entire rest of the day was a gentle downhill.
We stopped at 20km in Poivert to a strange cafe situation. We found the one cafe on google maps and were told to take off our shoes before entering. The lady said that we would have to go to the post office for baked goods. We arrived at the post office, had to ring a doorbell to get in, and found it crowded with the village-folk. There was indeed a lady selling bread and baked goods, but the man in front of us bought the last two of three baked goods. So I bought the one twisted chocolate swirl thing and we shared it.
The day proceeded quite well. We cycled through the scenic town center of Mirapoix and past hundreds of acres of sunflower fields (it was by far the most predominant crop we cycled past today). For lunch we stopped in a tiny village square where we finished our sweaty Spanish cheese and fuet and Viki napped on the open ground.
We’re staying in lodging again tonight, a private room quoted on booking.com for €50. We’ve washed all our clothes in the shower, ate our cassoulet, I’ve had half a bottle of €2 sparking wine, and we had some treat ice creams from the supermarket. Time for bed!

Wow totally amazing. You guys are incredible. Love following you but so missing out on Viki knitting 😂 but well it is your honeymoon. Look forward to celebrating with you both in Cyprus soon ❤️. Happy cycling
Thank you!!
