We arrived in Barcelona at 4pm, after nearly a full day of transport. Everything went pretty smoothly apart from us going to the wrong place to pick up our bikes, Viki’s front brakes not working well, and my chain rubbing against my front derailleur.
We had planned in advance where we would sleep – a spot in some trees about a 30km cycle from the airport. But super last minute, Xavier, from Warm Showers, invited us to stay with him for the night. So we created a new route, also around 30km from the airport and arrived around 9pm, just after twilight. The weather was crazy – we got pummeled by thundering rain, followed by a brief visit by the sun before dusk.
Xavier invited us in, provided us with showers, beer, pizza, and fuet, and we had a lovely discussion about biking around Europe. Now it’s 11pm and we’re heading to bed
