Day 23 – Cold, Wet, and Rolling Hills

Last night was one of the coldest we’ve had – it got down to around 6 degrees C. It was hard for me to sleep (I’m finding it harder than Viki). Fortunately it was dry and we were able to pack up the dry tent, just before the rain started for the day.

We spent the day going up and down over rolling hills, starting in Luxembourg and ending halfway to Brussels. We stopped at a big supermarket at 20km this morning, which somehow didn’t sell refrigerated milk, just UHT milk, but had half an aisle for Belgian waffles and a whole aisle for Belgian beer.

We’re excited to be in a hotel in Brussels tomorrow night, so we ate our muesli quickly and ventured off. We didn’t have a proper stop until lunch at 70km in a bus shelter (protected from the wind and rain).

We’ve now set up camp under a bridge in Huy. It’s supposed to be raining all night, but should be dry during the day tomorrow.

  1. Andrew and Viki – Enjoying the updates, the photos, and taking the journey with you – the dry way 🙂
Glad you’ve had some great weather too… Enjoy the rest of the trip… Looking forward to the photo narrative when you return home.
