Day 13 – We made it to Trondheim!

We woke up excited! Only 70km to go until our rest day. Without delay we had our muesli, packed up camp, and set off. The day ended up being a lot more hilly than expected. 1000 meters is what we’d typically do in a full hilly day. Today we had it all in the span of 70km!

We had our first break at 30km – some peanut butter on bread and a nectarine. It was then just 30km and a bigger than expected detour to get to a supermarket to buy a loaf of bread for lunch (we get through a lot of bread!) We had lunch on the ferry – finally finishing up a sausage that neither of us like that we’ve been working through for 5 days or so.

Finally, after the ferry, it was just a 10km jaunt to get to our airbnb, near the center of Trondheim. We met the host at 3:30pm and aired out our things. We did our laundry, had incredible showers – our first proper showers (ie – not in a river or other cold body of water) since the airport lounge in Stockholm. After a quick nap, we headed off to an all you can eat sushi buffet and thoroughly gorged ourselves. It was heavenly. See our three plates of food in the photos!

Now we’re back at the airbnb, looking forward to a long sleep in a real bed!
