Day 19 – Vegging out in the Hotel

Today was a complete rest day. We had the hotel breakfast (€9 per person) and sneaked our lunch from the buffet. Viki read her book while I went for a swim in the pool and planned the next days’ route. While comparing breakfast buffets Viki very seriously commented “Well, the things that affect me are the muesli and the quality of the bacon” in justifying why she preferred today’s breakfast over the other two hotel breakfasts we’ve had.

I had a bath with my inner tube that had a very slow leak and found a tiny hole, with a little air bubble that came out every five seconds. I patched it, so at least we have a spare inner tube until we can buy a new one. Sidenote – just in the last day or two most places have only accepted cash (before everywhere accepted card). We’ll need to find another ATM soon.

Dinner was bolegnese rice. Viki adamantly said that she could not live without olives or jarred roasted red peppers, so I had bought those yesterday and included them in dinner. Now we have three days cycling to Fisterra, the westernmost part of Spain! From there we’ll start our journey south.
