Dear Parents

Coaches Ms. Straub and Ms. Rees described the Knights as 'determined, gritty, enthusiastic, self-disciplines, sporting, cheerful team-players'. They enjoyed the Victoria sunshine, the experience of meeting with and competing against other teams, and, significantly representing our school.

MAN IN MOTION TENTH ANNIVERSARY

HOME-COMING CELEBRATION

1997 marks the tenth anniversary of the completion of Rick Hansen's Man in Motion World Tour. To celebrate the anniversary, Rick has travelled across Canada during April and May, and has visited 16 cities in 26 days. On Sunday, May 18 at General Motors Place, there is to be a free Family day. Events include the Canadian Wheelchair Basketball Championship Final at 2:30 p.m., performances from the Aritzia Extreme Dance Team, the Grizz as well as from many children's entertainers.

Admission is by ticket only. The tickets are free and available at McDonald's Restaurants.

FAMILY MATH PROBLEM

72 students each drank a cup of hot chocolate and 2/3 of them went back for a second cup. Half of this group went back for a third and a quarter of these managed to go back for a fourth cup.

How many cups of hot chocolate were drunk? How much hot chocolate was consumed if each cup contained 200 ml.

SOFTBALL ANYONE?

Mark June 6th on your calendar for an afternoon of fun in the sun. The Mulgrave staff and significant others challenge the parents to a recreational slow pitch softball game (the Canadian version of rounders). We will meet at 4:00 p.m. at Selwyn Field (Mountain Highway at Fern) for an afternoon of fun and frolic. You need not worry about equipment. Just bring a baseball glove and a pair of runners. The children are welcome to come and cheer you/us on. If you are interested please contact Mr. Schramm (Daniel, G.2) or Mr. Staff (Natalie, G.2, Rebecca & Olivia, K.).

SPRING GALA

I was asked at the recent Head's Conference how it was that a school could grow from twelve to one hundred and sixteen in three short years. A two word response sufficed - faith and utter commitment. Over and over, these qualities have been demonstrated unswervingly by faculty, staff, parents and children, and tonight we will enjoy, and our children will unquestionably benefit from, an evening organised by a Herculean team, assisted by an amazing parent body - thank you all so very much.

MEASURELESS

There are miles to measure countries,
There are bushels, too for wheat

There are fathoms for the ocean.
Degrees to measure heat

There are years to measure ages
Light years for stars above

But no way has been discovered
To measure mother love.
