Linda Hamer

Ms Hamer graduated from London University (U.K.) Institute of Education with a double distinction in both the Theory and Practice of Education. Her major subject areas were English, History and Sociology.
In London she worked in a miscellany of schools, both private and public, in a variety of socio-economic areas and taught students from K to 12.
Since her arrival in Canada in 1979, she has taught for five years in the Public School system, and was a founding teacher at Collingwood School in West Vancouver, as well as being the founding educator for Mulgrave. At Collingwood, Ms Hamer taught grades 2 and five, was Head of the Primary School for three years, organised and directed junior and senior school drama programmes, as well as designing, developing and implementing an individual education programme for gifted children.
In 1992, Ms Hamer graduated with a M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Simon Fraser University and hopes to complete her Doctorate from the same institution in the not too distant future.
Her personal interests are many and varied: reading, writing short stories for children, childrens literature, story telling, theatre, cinema, ballet, opera, travelling, walking, hiking, fishing and collecting teapots, Toby jugs, dolls and books.
